Welcome to Japan and transfer to the hotel from the airport. Enjoy some free time to start exploring the vibrant energy of Tokyo, one of the most fascinating cities in the world.
Guided tour of the city’s landmarks: Zojoji Temple, Meiji Shrine, the famous Shibuya Crossing, the Akihabara electronics district, and Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. Visit to the Tokyo Skytree observation deck. In the evening, a stroll through Shinjuku with dinner included.
Ride the Shinkansen, Japan’s famous high-speed train. Visit the Peace Memorial Park, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and take a ferry to the sacred island of Miyajima, home to the famous floating torii gate.
Ferry ride to Shikoku Island. Visit to Matsuyama Castle, the Ishiteji Buddhist temple, and a visit to Dogo Onsen, one of Japan’s oldest hot springs.
Explore the Kotohira Shrine, dedicated to sailors. Take a stroll through Ritsurin Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. Stop at the Naruto Bridge to watch the famous ocean whirlpools.
Visit to the Kobe Earthquake Museum. Hike up Mount Koya, one of the spiritual centers of Japanese Buddhism. Special evening at a monastery featuring a vegetarian dinner and a Zen meditation experience.
Departure for Kyoto, Japan’s former imperial capital. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and the famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji). Stroll through the traditional Gion district, home to the geishas.
Visit to the Eihei-ji Zen monastery, one of the country's most important spiritual centers. Stop at the Fukui Dinosaur Museum and the Echizen Great Buddha. Arrival in Kanazawa.
Explore Kanazawa, famous for its traditional architecture, the samurai district, and Kenrokuen Garden, considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan.
Excursion to Shirakawa-go, a traditional World Heritage village with thatched-roof houses. We then continue on to Takayama, one of Japan’s best-preserved historic towns.
Return to Tokyo with some free time for last-minute shopping or to explore more of the city.
